WELCOME TO THE SCOTTSDALE ARTISTS LEAGUE!
Our Mission
The Scottsdale Artists League endeavers to encourage the practice of art, promote and advance the interest, appreciation, and application of all forms of art, foster good fellowship, cooperation and development among artists and other interested members of our community.
Founded in 1961 by a group of Arizona artists, the League has become a major art association in the local arts community.
Our mission is to encourage the practice of art; promote and advance the interest, appreciation, and application of all forms of art; and foster good fellowship, cooperation and development among artists and other interested members of our community.
Our Monthly Meeting is held the first Tuesday of every month in Saint Maria Goretti’s Piper Hall. We hold a members' critique that begins promptly at 5:30 PM and runs to 6:30 PM. Our General meeting begins at 6:45 PM, with an announcement session to inform members of happenings in the League and elsewhere, followed by an approximately 45-50 minute demonstration and/or presentation by an art professional. We wrap up the meeting with the drawing of door prizes, ending around 8:30 PM.
We encourage amateurs, professionals and even non-artists to join us. There truly is “something for everyone.” Everyone is welcome to come to a meeting as a guest.
We hold juried and non-juried shows and provide scholarships for worthy art students. Our members are also linked, through us, to their individual websites and offer art for sale on the web. We also publish an informative, entertaining monthly newsletter (Art Beat). Scottsdale Artists League is one of the most enlightening, encouraging, and exhilarating groups you will ever encounter.
